Genius has GED teachers in Maths, Social Studies, Science & English. GED is an American secondary (high) school equivalent curriculum, testing and diploma award for students aged 15 and up. It’s made up of 4 subjects. Learning can be spaced out. GED has been going for 70 years and its accepted worldwide.

Lesson # 14

How to make a question for “Can” in Thai

Watch this video to form questions and converse better in Thai.

Using “can” in a sentence is a helpful way to understand if something is possible or not.

You can also use this as an affirmative response or to express ability.

Remember:

Can? = “Dai mai” (low tone, rising tone)

Use “Dai” alone for the word “can” if it’s not a question.

Placing “mai” after a verb makes it a question mark.

Lesson # 13

 How to speak “Can” and “Can’t” in Thai

Can is used as a positive word to express ability or to say that something is possible. To turn this negative, we use the word can’t (can’t=cannot).

This video shows the difference of can/cannot in Thai and how to understand the tones so you can develop your conversational skills faster.

Remember: Can’t/Cannot = “Mai dai”

“Mai” before the verb = Can’t “Mai” after the verb = question marker (?) and forms the question “Can?”

Lesson # 12

How to express your feelings in Thai

Let’s learn some basic words and sentence construction to express your feelings in Thai.

Remember:

Happy = “Mee kwaam suk”

Angry = “Grod”

Hungry = “Hiw”

Thirsty = “Hiw naam”

When speaking or expressing feelings in Thai, take note that you can cut the “am” in a sentence.

Example: I (am) happy = Phom/Chan mee kwaam suk.
